RECALL

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

Recall helps you remember the people you meet. To do that it keeps information about you and about the people you add. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it and what you can do about it.

Who we are

Recall ("we", "us") is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at davidvillegas15@gmail.com or from the app in Settings, Help & Support, Contact support.

What we collect

Your account. Your email address, your name, your password (stored only as a salted hash, never in readable form), your language and the invite code you joined with.

Your profile. What you choose to add: photos, profession, company, bio, expertise tags, phone numbers, extra email addresses, social links and a location label. Your contacts on Recall can see your public profile.

Your contacts and notes. The people you add, the notes you write about them, tags, reminders, events and the history of when you met. This is your private memory: other people never see your notes about them.

Your location, only if you turn on presence. When presence is on, the app sends your device's position so your Recall contacts can see you on the map and you can see them. You choose exact or approximate precision. We keep your latest position, not a history of where you've been. When you and a contact are near each other, Recall adds the encounter (when, and roughly where) to your history with that contact. When presence is off, the app does not send your location.

Your address book, only if you use Find people. Phone numbers and email addresses from your contacts are turned into one-way hashes on your iPhone before anything is sent. We compare those hashes with Recall accounts that allow it and do not store them. Names and other details from your address book never leave your device.

What you ask Recall AI. When you type or speak to Recall AI, your request and the contacts and notes it needs to answer are sent to our AI provider to produce the answer, draft notes or set reminders. Voice is transcribed for that purpose and the recording is not kept. Content you share to Recall from other apps (for example a profile page, an email signature or a contact card) is processed the same way to create the contact. Business cards you scan are read on your device.

Your device. A push notification token, the device model, iOS and app versions, language and time zone, so we can deliver notifications at the right time and keep the service working.

Support and safety. Messages you send to support, people you block and reports you make.

What we don't do

We don't show ads, we don't sell your data and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Why we use it

Who processes it for us

These providers process data on our instructions and only for these purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, it's deactivated right away and you have 30 days to change your mind by signing in again. After that, your account and its data are erased. Sign-up and password codes expire after 15 minutes. Copies in backups disappear as those backups expire.

Your rights

You can see and edit most of your data in the app, and delete your account in Settings, Account, Delete account. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct or erase it, or to restrict or object to how we use it. If you're in the European Union, you can complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Children

Recall is not meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date on this page and tell you in the app when the change matters.
